Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training

Therapeutic yoga is about moving in ways that help the body heal instead of strain. Through simple, well-aligned asanas, you give yourself the chance to recover, restore balance, and breathe with awareness. Working with the pancha prana adds depth, teaching you how to notice tension, release it, and bring clarity back into both body and mind.

The training emphasises slow, intentional practice. Here, movements are approached with care to nurture the body by being more mindful. You learn to breathe consciously again and the awareness allows you to guide the flow. Our students learn to observe subtle sensations, build steadiness, and cultivate soulful presence. The focus extends beyond physical alignment to understanding how these practices can restore energy, release tension, and support overall well-being.

Our approach to training yoga comes by prioritising healing and self-awareness. Asanas are chosen for their restorative quality, breathing exercises for nervous system regulation, and mindfulness practices for clarity and integration. In the past, we have seen students exploring how therapeutic principles translate into teaching, creating a foundation for safe, grounded, and mindful instruction in all spiritual contexts.

It is yoga fit for every body. No matter your age, experience, or whether you are recovering from injury.

  • For new practitioners: props are used to support correct alignment and build a safe foundation.
  • For seasoned practitioners: the focus deepens with subtle alignment, breathwork, and understanding of prana.
  • For those with injuries: therapeutic practice awakens the body’s natural ability to heal and restore balance.

This is not about pushing limits. It is about listening, moving with care, and creating a practice that grows with you.

Course Structure

The program combines classical Hatha Yoga with modern therapeutic principles. The guiding principle is simple: do less, gain more. Every session is taught to build steadiness, precision, and gentleness. Over time, these small shifts strengthen awareness and allow the body’s natural intelligence to work.

You will learn to:

  • Release physical tension and restore balance.
  • Use alignment to prevent injury and support long-term wellness.
  • Work with breath to deepen the body–mind connection.
  • Create a sustainable practice that supports emotional and physical well-being.

Meditation: Simple Practices, Real Stillness

Meditation in this training is not about long hours of sitting or complicated methods. We keep it simple. You’ll learn to notice your breath, follow its rhythm, and let the mind settle on its own. With steady practice, the restlessness eases and a natural stillness takes over. What you build here is not escape, but the ability to meet everyday life with a calmer mind and steadier presence.

Ayurveda: Getting to Know Your Dosh

Ayurveda teaches that each of us is shaped by a unique balance of energy, called a dosha. This is why the same food, weather, or routine can feel good for one person and difficult for another. In these sessions, you’ll find out your own dosha type and how it affects your mood, energy, and digestion. You’ll also see how small changes like the way you eat, rest, or set daily routines can bring you back into balance. This isn’t about strict rules. It’s about understanding yourself better and learning how to take care of your body in a way that feels natural.

Philosophy: Yoga Beyond the Mat

The philosophy sessions draw from the Bhagavad Gita, especially the path of Karma Yoga—the practice of acting with awareness and without being tied to results. Instead of heavy theory, we keep it practical. You’ll look at how these teachings can guide the choices you make, the way you work, and the way you relate to others. The point isn’t to add more ideas to remember—it’s to see how yoga can shape the way you live, not just the way you move on a mat.

Anatomy: Understanding the Body, Freeing the Breath

Anatomy here isn’t a lecture with diagrams. You’ll learn it in your own body. By feeling how alignment works, you’ll see how it protects the joints and spine, and how it makes each posture safer and more comfortable. Good alignment also helps prana—the body’s energy—move with less blockage. These classes help you notice what changes when you adjust small things: how the breath flows, how circulation improves, and how the body feels more stable and at ease.

Methodology: Learning How to Teach

If you want to teach, these sessions give you the tools. You’ll practice how to plan a class, how to guide people step by step, and how to adapt a posture for someone who needs it. You’ll also learn how to create a room where students feel safe and included. The focus isn’t just on “getting the words right”, it’s about holding space with clarity and presence. By the time you finish, you’ll not only know the practice, but also how to share it with confidence and care.
